All third year ITMC students have to choose the courses which they will take in the 5th semester: the specialisation, which will start after the summer holidays. Among the optional courses on offer are the courses ‘Sustainability in Tourism’. Sustainable courses and seminars are fun, not for softies and very relevant. This programme exists of 4 independent but interrelated courses that deal with the topic from different perspectives:
- A corporate perspective: Corporate Social Responsibility as a tool for business innovation
- A management perspective: Managing natural and cultural heritage sites
- A customer perspective: Visitors to natural and cultural heritage sites
- A community perspective: Understanding and dealing with the complexity of community involvement
